Window Seat (2004)

from Sight Specifics by Steve Peters

/

about

Window Seat (2004) was made as an installation in an open closet space in the administrative office of the Santa Fe Art Institute – just large enough for one person to sit in, with a floor-to-ceiling window looking out on the main entrance to the building. Four people were recorded describing what they saw out the window. Visitors then sat in front of the window and listened on headphones, hearing a mix of the recorded voices, and pre-recorded and live ambient sound heard outside the window. This is the complete, unedited version.
