Dog Eyes #1 (1980)

from Loners & Misfits by Steve Peters

/

about

Another piece with the Cat sequencer from the spring of 1980. This one has a bit of a punk/industrial edge, no doubt influenced by the kinds of bands I was playing in by then.

The title came from a later version, when Steve Fisk and I were collaborating as Customer Service; he slapped a rather menacing loop on it of himself saying the words "dog eyes" and that was that. That one appeared on the "Regional Zeal" compilation LP that we produced for Palace of Lights (tinyurl.com/k6zramv).

Years later, in 1997, this original version found its way into the score for "Ground Luminosity," a dance-theater collaboration with Lane Lucas.
