Airforms (Chamber Music 10)

from by Steve Peters

Made in 2013 as a birthday gift for my friend Steve Roden. This piece is unusual in that he sent me two hours of recorded room tone instead of the one hour I requested. I used the first hour to make a piece entirely of drones that fade in and out, and the second hour to make a second piece using only bell-like tones. These were intended to be played separately or simultaneously in his home. The two pieces are here superimposed to create a third composite version.

from Chamber Music, released August 10, 2009
Original source recording made by Steve Roden in his dome-shaped house in Pasadena, CA, designed by Wallace Neff.
