about
Morning Ragas was composed in 2005 for Art Outside #6 at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. All of the sounds were recorded during one weekend in Webster's Woods, the center's five-acre sculpture park. The source materials include ambient/environmental sounds, natural objects found on-site, and several of the artworks encountered in the park. The piece was intended to be heard at a low volume through headphones on a portable audio player while wandering aimlessly through the woods, blending with any sounds that might be heard by the listener/walker in real time.
The original work is 40 minutes long, and so can not be uploaded here (file is too large). This is a 12-minute condensed version, which gives the basic idea but moves faster.
